Both GPS beacons and drones for mapping are newer technologies; however, integrators serving the law enforcement and first responder markets will see frequent requests for their deployment.

At the center of this expanding market is the delivery of potentially high-margin digital signage projects for the distribution, and playback of relevant information or content on large digital screens and public view monitors. Security screening wait times, flight information, public announcements, airline advertisements, boarding group status and emergency evacuation messages are driving these opportunities. As the use of Bluetooth beacons increases, this messaging will be customized in real time for the needs of the passengers in proximity of the signage.

“There are some that the solar light won’t work well because if it’s under trees or too close to trees, well that’s going to prohibit the solar from working,” he said. “So we will make an assessment and a judgment and then if we think it’s warranted, we’ll go ahead and do it for them.”

In addition all these solutions also have a significant disadvantage – they are isolated and fragmented, and treat each problem separately and not the system as a whole.
